7. Job Role and Work

The selected Research Fellows will assist with data collection, field surveys, analysis and documentation for preparation of the Ramgarh Forest Division Working Plan under NWPC 2023.

Major areas of work include:

  1. Socio-economic survey and assessment.
  2. Soil survey and assessment.
  3. Biodiversity assessment.
  4. Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) assessment.
  5. Forest carbon stock and carbon sequestration assessment.
  6. Bamboo assessment.
  7. Soil erosion vulnerability and watershed assessment.
  8. Assessment of social, economic and cultural benefits.
  9. Forest fire impact and vulnerability assessment.
  10. Water resource management assessment.
  11. Wildlife habitat, movement corridors and human-wildlife conflict assessment.
  12. Assessment of mining and allied activities and eco-restoration requirements.
  13. Other work under NWPC-2023.

8. Duration of Engagement

The engagement will be for half a year, subject to satisfactory performance.
An extension may be considered depending on the progress of the Working Plan exercise. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual.
